Another Teen in the house

Randi turned "13" on Tuesday the 27th. She celebrated with
13 of her friends on Saturday with a birthday bash. Thanks
to Janae who took care of the craft and games.
Randi is an absolute delight in our home. She is the
ray of sunshine with her smile and sense of humor.
She's probably the only one that gets Richard's joking and
can take it and give it back.
Randi is the only child in the family who is an actual Spokanite.
It's hard to believe she once was the adorable, chubby baby
everyone wanted to carry and Justin used as
a "chick magnet" at church.
Happy Birthday Randi!

Pics of Ric

Ric sent a CD of pics from the MTC up until Christmas.
Since there were no captions I don't know who any
of these people are. He also had a lot of pictures of
random animals he encounters on the street.
There were also many pictures of smashed, run over
cats. I don't know why he would take photos of these,
I guess he thought we would be interested in seeing
dead Mexican cats. They don't look much different
than Spokane dead cats.

Go Mead Panthers!

Lani's going to hurt me when she's sees these pics posted
...oh well. Cheerleading season is almost over. She has been
cheering for basketball (boys & girls) and wrestling,
which sometime can be up to 4 days a week!
It'll be a lot simpler (and cheaper) with her just
participating in a sport. She has done a great job and had fun.
Her squad has 5 or 6 girls on the gymnastics team, so the
tumbling has been awesome.

Wildlife spottings...

Randi & I spotted these moose near Midway Elementary
school. They were just kicking back. Today we opened
the front door and saw another moose across the street
eating the neighbors bush. Guess with all the snow they
are looking for food. Last Friday we found 6 wild turkeys
in the backyard, Lani & Randi thought they were peacocks
because they were so huge. Of course there is plenty of
deer to dodge while driving, Janae had a near miss the
other night. Who needs a zoo when you have the great
Northwest!

Total of 70" of snow so far...

Backyard view

After shoveling the roof, we had to remove all the snow
get to the front door

Thanks to Dad & Justin we were able to shovel
off the roof before anything gave way. It
was an all day job.

Poor Paislee has to climb the "alps" each time
she has to relieve herself. It's about a 5.5 ft.
climb after shoveling the snow off the roof.

Love this picture of Justin and sweet Hailey

Just too squeezable!

I made the traditional Japanese New Years feast.
We had Panko shrimp,Inari, sushi rolls, chicken teriyaki,
cucumber namasu, Ozoni/mochi.I got so excited to eat that
I forgot to take a picture of the spread.
It was sad not having Justin, Janae, Cody, and Ric here.
We had the Madsen's over because I can't cook a small
amount of food anymore. I hope those that weren't with us
had a Happy New Year with something traditionally
Japanese to eat.
Here's to hoping we can get together next year!
